Integrated AI: Kling reuniting families (16/Jul/2024)
You’re going to be seeing more and more of this, and the integration of AI-versions of close family, friends, and lovers with humanity will change the world.
(You heard it here first, but you’ve also been hearing me say it since a guy used GPT-3 to talk to his dead fiancée based on their old text messages all the way back in September 2020. The SFChronicle made an interactive report on that one in Jul/2021.)
Prepare for the entire population of Earth to be given tailored solace around artificial intelligence by spending time with a ‘real life’ model of their favourite grandparent, parent, ‘the one that got away,’ best friend, or other loved one… deceased or otherwise. Or perhaps even a younger or older version of themselves. (I’d love to hear what an 80-year-old Alan would have to say!)
Each individual could argue with their own personal AI to their heart’s content, be comforted as needed, and hear specific responses that neither I nor anyone else in the world could provide in that way…
I’m relying on the above being brought to life very soon to lighten the load I feel while revealing the opportunities of AI to the public. In the face of increasing belligerence and negativity towards AI, it will be liberating to have each member of the human race given the ability to interact with their own ‘grandma’ (or similar AI conceptualization) and spend as much time as they need being gently guided through this evolution.
It’s worth noting that nearly all the AI technologies needed for this are already here, at varying levels of maturity.
In this new demo video by Chinese user ‘imxiaohu’, two old photos are fed to the text-to-video and image-to-video model—and Sora alternative—Kuaishou Kling. The output seems miraculous to me.
The charm of AI brings families back to life. Two photos, set the first and last frames [via prompt], and then use the prompt word to control. AI automatically helps you imagine the scene...
